Eos is the ancient Greek goddess of the dawn, using her wings to fly high above the earth to draw the sun out of hiding. As the sun peeks out over the horizon, light returns to the world for another day. The warmth of the sun’s rays shines down on the earth and warms us. So too does this gorgeous shawl warm you when you cuddle up in its wings.
A large crescent shawl, Eos is a simple pattern – a meditative knit. An easy but interesting lace pattern makes up the main body of the shawl, while a squishy garter stitch edge and picot bind off add cosiness and warmth. I hope knitting this shawl brings light and warmth into your life just as Eos brought light and warmth to the people of ancient Greece.
